I’ve forgotten my phone password how can I reset it?
Reset an iPhone using a Mac or PC:
First make sure you have Mac or PC with iTunes installed, you will also need a lighting to USB data cable like the one that came in the box with your iPhone.
Now turn off your iPhone by holding down the side and volume down button until the power slider appears. Drag the slider to turn off your phone.
For the iPhone X, SE, 8 and 8+ hold down the side button, for the iPhone 7 and 7+ hold down the volume down button, for iPhone 6 or earlier hold down the home button.
Keep holding the button down and plug your iPhone into your Mac or PC until the recovery screen appears on the phone.
Locate your iPhone on iTunes, when you see the option for either update or restore, choose the restore option. The computer will download the software to restore your iPhone. If the download takes more than 15 minutes and the iPhone exits recovery mode, wait for the download to finish, and re-enter recovery mode. Once the recovery is complete disconnect your iPhone from your Mac or PC and set-up and use your iPhone.
